"Model portrait" changing

Is there any way for the real model and the face portrait that appears next to the unit's details/stats to be different? Or are they inseparable?
I'm sure I saw this in a custom map... maybe Legends ORPG?

I'm not sure how they work, but models usually seem to have a model_portrait file included. You might change that.

So either way I'd have to start messing about with models?
P.S. I don't know how to get the (model) editor.

Edit: KaerfNomekop: Is that file accessed through a model editor? Hmm... I could live with fixed portraits if it's too hard.
