PC won't power up

Mobo: asrock h61m-hvs
cpu: i5-2400
PSU 500w
GPU: nvidia 430gt 2048mb
RAM: 8gb ddr3 1333

here is my analysis when i hit the power on button:

* power supply is down
* i notice the cpu fan makes a very slight turn, like 1/2cm turn
* all components are down except the LED of the chassis
* whenever i unplug the 12v PSU 4-pin connector, CPU and PSU fan works, except for the GPU fan

this happened the first time I assemble the components together, then i did an accidental and unexplained miracle that made it turn on. The problem returned few days later.

I am not sure which to RMA, I need some wise help, thanks.

Is the motherboard fully powered by the power supply? I.e no loose cables

Do you have any extra components (sound card, optical drive etc)? How many hard drives?

PSU seems kind of low. What brand/model is it?

just 1 hdd 7200rpm 1tb seagate. no soundcard and optical drive. i don't think it's the watt of power supply because it wont boot with just cpu, mobo and ram. any ideas?

also i noticed with bare mobo and power supply(24 and 4 pins connected), it still won't boot.

have you tried taking it out of the case and removing the fans (to check for a short somewhere)? I would do that, and contact asus since they would know what to check next/RMA

Reset the RTC/NVRAM/CMOS RAM. Basically whatever you want to call it. Leave it out for 20 mins and it should clear everything and allow you to boot the PC.

So what's the whole reforged situation? Do we have to run the classic version bootleg now?

My boyfriend is super into Bethesda modding so I'm probably going to join him in that for a bit, then move on to making mobile/browser games.

I mostly just want to look at my old projects because I know I posted uploads on here somewhere.

I think you can still run the original game, just there's a chance your map won't work with the newer patches

what development framework have you been looking at for mobile development?
  • jonas jonas:
I'm currently creating (as a hobby) a space invaders like game for mobile using Xamarin, after starting a few larger projects that I also may not have finished :p

....what I don't get is why the fuck they would force us to permanently convert to a version of the game everyone fucking hated : \

Raid Shadow Legends texture pack smh

Most people fail at life throughout their adulthood. Sometimes we get to learn from it. Usually it just feels like crap.
