Possible Desktop Build

Hey so I'm looking to buy a new desktop in the next few months and I was wondering if this set-up would be good in the long run. What I mean by that is will it be able to run the next-gen games fairly well (medium settings) and be compatible with future parts? I just don't want to spend $700-900 on a new desktop only to replace the motherboard because I'm upgrading to a different socket cpu in a couple years, although I feel that might be the case no matter what. This build isn't set in stone since when I will have the money to buy all the parts I'm going to look through everything and see if prices have dropped and all that good stuff.

This is basically a build that is suggested on another website, but it fits into my price range. Also, which will be outdated fastest? The GPU or the CPU?

Also, the type of work I will most likely be using this desktop for is 3D modeling (Solidworks), random school work, a few games (SC2 and maybe some others), music, and possibly blu-ray video.

Thanks for any tips!
