I had this problem with my Vista Computer and XP computer.

I can't put my computer to sleep. Everytime I put it to sleep, it "wakes up" again after 2-4 seconds.

Does it always happen or when you move the mouse or touch the keyboard?

what computer/mouse/keyboard is this?
I know I had a cheap wireless mouse once that "moved" itself a little bit even when I wasn't moving it

can you set it to sleep after like 60 seconds and then unplug the mouse/keyboard to test if it's that or not?

Update or install the drivers for the keyboard and especially mouse (for example Microsoft Intellipoint or Logitech whateveritscalled.)

If that doesn't help, go to device manager, find your USB keyboard and on it's Power Management tab uncheck "allow this device to wake the computer." Also try the same thing for the mouse (try to only modify one of the devices to see which one it is.)

Sometimes you can do this on the network adapter too.

Also see this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927821/en-us

In fact I found this page which is pretty good http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/63567-power-options-sleep-mode-problems.html

Fixed it. Not sure if it was the mouse/keyboard though. Since I unplugged it all and made the Option changes.

Thanks!
