SC2 and WC3 ?

What is the difference betwween Starcraft's and wacraft's ?

Ive never played any of the starcraft series

I think i might buy SC2 though it sounds good from my point of view

Warcraft- 12footman vs 12 grunts=a cool battle

Starcraft- 30Marines vs30 hurdas vs 14 zelots= Not much of a battle

Warcraft isn't that dynamic, Starcraft is 10 times moore intence then warcraft

And IMO the starcraft version is a lot more of a battle . Can't wait for SCII: hundreds of carriers <3.

Warcraft = past
Starcraft = future

They don't have anything to do with each other, though. Different series.

Baisicly warcraft is made for little battles, spinning arround the heroes.Starcraft is moore intense(a lot) the unit controll is harder and there are a lot moore ways to block a unit.Example: archer is blockable with footman with defend.Marines are blockable with a lot of zerglins, a few hydras that back up, any units that can barry themselfs, mutralisks(don't remember the name right) and much much moore.

IMO warcraft is more strategy based ie. you need heroes you need to tech right base management microing and creeping
Starcraft you don't need to micro as much (this is just my opinion and i'm not good at either for melee maps so i might be completely wrong) and its not as in depth as warcraft

warcraft 3 is pretty outdated... no dinamyc shadows... low poly... bad textures... WC3 looks bad even for 2003... its true...

but WC3 contains very powerful World Editor - and its the only reason why i still play/use it...

but SC 2 contains even more powerful editor! (info from blizzard)

StarCraft is more of a RTS in the terms of traditional RTS themes like, base building, expandtion, micro-managing, and especially.... Counters!!

StarCraft is very nicely balanced, 3 asymetrical races, different units and tech trees, yet it is perfectly balanced in terms of gameplay.

WarCraft focuses a bit (heck... alot) more on heros, micro-managing, items (hero-related...), Spells, and such.

WarCraft is kinda symetric compared to StarCraft (well, what isnt )

Undead: Frost Wyrm
Human: Gryphon Riders
Orc: Wyvrens

Low Tech Ranged Unit:
Night Elves: Huntress
Undead: Crypt Fiend

etc.etc...

So.. in conclusion... Each game has its own dynamic mode of gameplay.
StarCraft = 2d so more mass games due to less lag :thup:
WarCraft = 3d so laggy mass games, but more emphasis on heros .. so also :thup:

Yes, both are good. Warcraft is much more like a RPG fantasy type game. Where you get items and cast spells. Heros can be cool yes. Cause if you get to level 10 then you got one unit thats way powerful.

Starcraft however is better for massive battles and is easier to play because you don't have to worry about items, creeping, and keeping track of your all important hero to make sure he doesn't die, while having to use his abilitys too.

For me ,warcraft 3 is much better than Starcraft 2...because Warcraft is my passion <3
