I'm in the process of making a map to just screw around with for ideas, but I wanted to know was how to make that makes units start spawning after a certain amount of time passed. example:I already have zerglings spawning every 25 seconds, and I want to roaches to start spawning every 25 seconds, but not until 4 minutes(240 seconds)of game time has passed. How would I make that happen? Any help is much appreciated thank you.
I am wc3 editor but i belive it will be same in SC2 Someting like Event Game - Time - After 200 seconds past do
I'd make one trigger that spawns roaches every 25 seconds and have it initially off and then make another trigger that turns it on after 200s.
Siretu's solution is the one I'd recommend. That would results in 3 triggers: 1 that runs each 25 second and spawns Zerglings 1 that runs each 25 second and spawn Roaches (but is initially turned off) 1 that runs once after 200 seconds and activates the 2nd trigger
So how would I make the trigger look Example: Event: (triggering Timer) Expires? Local variables:? Conditions:? Actions:? What would I put in those. Sorry if it's too much trouble
Event: Map initialization Action: Have it create roaches where ever you wanted at the time What you need to do however is right click and disable it I believe is how you do it. After that create another trigger that says when however many seconds pass as the event then enable the other trigger and than disable the other trigger. Sorry I am still a little new but that's how it should work.
:banghead:Okay I figured out how to make them spawn after the time I wanted, but now I have a new problem. They only spawn once, the zerglings keep spawning, but the roaches only spawn once. Any thoughts?
You need to use two triggers for the roaches. The first needs to be a carbon copy of the zergling trigger except it spawns roaches and that it is initially turned off (make sure the event is the same). The second trigger needs to have the event Elapsed game time is 240 seconds with the action to turn on the spawn roaches trigger.
Here is the trigger that spawns my roaches Roach Spawn Events: Timer : every 30 seconds of real time Actions:General- If (conditions) then do (actions) else (actions) If:Blank then: Player-Modify player 15 handicap: add 7 Unit-Create 3 roach for player 15 at point 004 facing (random angle) degrees (no options) Here's my other trigger Roach spawn Countdown Events: elapsed timer is 60 seconds of real time actions: Trigger- run Roach Spawn (check conditions, don't wait until it finishes) Those are both the triggers thanks for any input
The issue would in your if statement. Try removing and keeping your actions underneath it. It should look like this: Trigger: Roach Spawn Events Timer - Every 30.0 seconds of Real Time Local Variables Conditions Actions Player - Modify player 15 Handicap: Add 7 Unit - Create 3 Roach for player 15 at point 004 facing (Random angle) degrees (No Options) Your other trigger should be fine.
Finally I figured it out. In your Roach spawn Countdown trigger, you are telling the trigger to run rather than turning it on. You need to use the action Turn Trigger On/Off
Thanks bud, the map works pretty good, now I just need to figure out how to make my scv build photon cannons, among other things D:
