if the event was a unit dies

could i use the condition tirggering unit has buff equal to true?

No. The unit would already be dead so it would have no buffs.

this works...

and incase u didnt know this

triggering unit refers to the unit used in the event

so that means, a unit dies...

triggering unit has buff

then triggering unit refers to the dying unit
