What does the Undo rate do?

Pretty much self explaining question...
What does the "Undo rate" in File/Preferences/General do?
Can it be a tool in map-making in any way?

It is just the number of times that you can undo (ctrl+z).
Just looked in WE, its actually "Undo limit"

Oh ok.. I saw on another post that it could be turned down to minimize "lag" (read: processing time) when you are editing certain field values, such as Hero Names, etc...

Any idea WHY?

Because WE doesn't need to save too many of your doings, so it saves memory for other stuff, something like that.
