Would spell imunity work? (don't think it would)

Have a trigger that when a unit accuires a buff, the buff being poison/frost, computer removes it?

Yep. Make sure you use a specific unit/unit-type event.

you could also make your unit a undead as disease cloud(poison) and the like dont work on undead.Idea given in post ahead is better tho.
