My mom's boyfriend once was a captain or something in the Swedish army, and when he was younger he had this military teacher who always spoke about the "threat from east". Every day he spoke about it, and said that the east would attack and start war, until one day. Someone asked "But... isn't there a possibility that there might be a threat from west too?" The teacher looked kinda surprised and started thinking. "Well, that's an interesting thought..." and after thinking for a few seconds he continued "But wouldn't it be a damn long detour?
