Add ability to Unit using Triggers

'Ello =)

I want an ability to be add'ed when a specific unit is killed.

This is my current trigger, but I cant seem to see why the ability wont be add'ed to the attacking unit. Anyone? =)

• Events
  • Unit - Any Unit is attacked
  • Local Variables
  • Conditions
    • (Unit type of (Triggering unit)) == Pickup - Summon 2 Zerglings
  • Actions
    • General - If (Conditions) then do (Actions) else do (Actions)
      • If
        • (Owner of (Attacking Unit)) == 1
      • Then
        • Unit - Enable the Merc Compound - Summon Mercenaries ability for (Attacking Unit)
        • Unit - Show the Merc Compound - Summon Mercenaries ability for (Attacking Unit)
      • Else

I wanted to make it so when my hero ran thru the unit/item, the item/unit would disappear and an ability was added to the hero.. But I couldnt figure out how to make the distance/range crap, so I just went with attacking

dont you have to give the attacking unit the ability before you can enable it?

also, is that the wc3 editor?

Why are you asking for the attacking unit to equal 1? Is there a purpose to it?

Also, your actions might not include adding it to the unit, just enabling it and then showing it.

Because it may only work for player 1.


About the trigger...
- Who attacks? The "item" or your unit?
- Does the attacker possess the ability by default, as the two posts above already stated?
- 100% sure the right item is attacked? (Unit Type comparison) I assume you are, but I'm running out of options
