Aura/Spell question

Prob a nub question but is it possible to somehow rotate the effect of a spell or aura like make an aura go vertical?

I think the only way to do that would be to edit the model or to make a dummy unit have it and then rotate the dummy...

Alright I can make a dummy unit. How do I rotate a unit so side ways so its on its side

There are some terrain guides of how to turn and rotate doodads all kinds of directions such as upside down ect so perhaps you could set the aura to one of these doodads? here the tutorial that I mean
