Fuck Facebook, Fuck Myspace, Fuck Twitter, and any other blog type deals. I don't care if Hugh Laurie gets on WoW to merge his Twitter. Gonna be seing things like Hugh Laurie Tweets "Battle.net account suspended cause I didn't follow the terms of service. Don't they know who I am..."
This seems to be an increasing trend with games, and not only PC game either... I think it's utterly stupid, but then I think FB itself is utterly stupid as well.
Its a optional function that doesn't get in the way - you can just ignore it. Why do you care? I don't like or use facebook either, but this doesn't bother me.
I care because developer resources have to be allocated to it. It's not just magically connected, they have to code for it. Code which could have been allocated for something that was/is actually useful...
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
