can't hear other players wc3

Unless somebody is hosting with a bot, I can't hear players without hosting capabilities. In most cases, this means nobody is talking and it's pretty boring.

The odd part is that it wasn't always like this. A few months after playing wc3, it happened suddenly. Private messages still come through if that's any consolation.

I've never been able to host even after setting a static ip as well as forwarding ports. I've also tried on several computers on the same network which might suggest it's a router problem.

I should also note that my router is doing strange things. For example, I can barely access the webpage of the router through firefox and ie. I can in safari though...

Edit: I've tried hosting without the router (hardwired) and still no luck.

when you tried without the router, were you able to read messages then?

Often you will connect from battle.net but still be on. Like during games, it will D/C you from b.net sometimes and you can play fine, sometimes u cant see talking, or be able to whisper people.

Do you have a firewall? That could be blocking the packets. Though I'm not sure why.

no firewall. i've tried hosting on several computers through the network and hardwired.
