Convert Video into MPEG format?

I have a movie done from Windows movie maker and its save in WMV format and I am trying to put it into MPEG format so that i can put it back on my camera and shop it through a TV. How would i go about converting the format? Im pretty sure i need a program for it but which one (Preferably Free)?

You could try some of these programs out... It looks like they're all free

Or Mainconcept's MPEG2 encoder -- best one I've have.
