Custom cliffs

How do you make cliffs like these

Is there a custom editor involved, or some JASS coding or something in the editor?

I would really appreciate any help.

My guess: The platforms are doodads set to be walkable so units can stand on them. Either that or they're just flat ground raised to form very steep hills for the sides.

Yes, but how do you make the terrain rise so steep cus it can't be done with a standard World Editor (or I just don't know how to do it).

it can be done, and its actually easy to do it..
there is a tutorial on this site, it tells you how to do it..

you need a file called misc.txt that goes in your UI folder in your wc3 directory...
then you can use the platform tool and u can make it...
