Extiva..."NO DISC" message...HELP!

I bought an Extiva on ebay and it worked fine for a few weeks but now no matter WHAT kind of disc I put in it all I get is a "NO DISC" message.

I tried unplugging it for couple minutes like the manual said, and also setting the machine to factory defaults by pressing the "STOP + PLAY" buttons after a cold start...but no matter what I have done, the machine just tries to read the disc for a few seconds and then it gives me a NO DISC message.

I sure hate to have to retire a nice NUON machine if there is a chance it can be fixed.

Anybody got any ideas what is wrong, and if there is a way to fix it?

I would guess bad laser alignment. Maybe take it into a shop?

Since it worked for a while it kind of discounts it being a scum ebayer.

Yeah, that crossed my mind too. If I can find a shop that might align the laser for a reasonable price I will do that. If I can't, I might try to align the laser myself, when I get a good block of time to tinker with it.

If you can't fix yours, I'm going to be selling mine soon.
