What are reps?

How do i get reputation points, is that what "rep" means? lil help plz im trying not to be noobish...oo and look at my banners in the contest do they look great?

Look at the little scales icon at the top of the read posts screen. That is where you can give rep. You get rep when forum members give it to you when they think it is deserved. Basically the reputation system is user driven though from time to time an Administrator might make adjustments.
