[Hesperia] Necromancy ORPG

I hope that I've posted this in the right place...

Well, anyhow, to cut to the chase, I'm creating my own ORPG and after I've done that I'm creating my own Single Player RPG, which is beyond the point, but okaaay.

I'm planning on making four series of my ORPG, one for each world in my imaginary land. First one will be Hesperia, then Gardemith, Anemoi, and then Ciceron. I'll post screenshots once I make them -- the terrain looks pretty good.

So I have all the maps drawn out, just need some time to terrain and need help creating spells or at least having couple of ideas (classes below -- THIS FONT is finished). I need some ideas for each class (max level 60, abilties learned / upgraded every two levels up to 50, maximum of 11 different spells), but just ideas, no names.

-- Melee Classes
Brute: A powerful warrior who attacks strongly and recklessly.
Crusader: A warrior adept at defending and using holy magic.
Knight: A warrior adept at offensive skills and boosting melee power.
Squire: An all around warrior who wields minor Earth magic.
Gladiator: A warrior who has many battle augmentational abilities.

--Magic Classes
Elementalist: An all around caster who controls magic of every element.
Magician: A caster class who is adept at draining an enemy's strengths.
Necromancer: A caster who controls the power of death and decay.
Warlock: A powerful caster who controls the powers of fire and darkness.
Wizard: A caster class who is adept at doing heavy target damage.

--Support Classes
Alchemist: A support class who is adept at tampering with things.
Arbiter: A support class who banishes foes for a short time.
Cleric: A support class that is adept at keeping allies alive with holy magic.
Illusionist: A support claster who meddles with the strings of reality.
Priest: A support class adept at using its enemy's strengths against them.

--DPS Classes
Acolyte: A damage class which is adept at slaying certain foes.
Ascetic: A fighter who uses Wood and Water magic to aid them in battle.
Assassin: A fighter who specializes in stealthy, slow, but deadly attacks.
Monk: A fighter who aims for an enemy's weaknesses.
Thief: A fighter adept at removing an enemy's defenses, stealthily.

--Ranged Classes
Archer: A ranged class who is adept at heavy burst damage.
Bard: A ranged class who specializes in various battle songs.
Enchantress: A ranged warrior who imbues weapons with magical properties.
Hunter: A ranged class who is adept at toying with an enemy's mind.
Summoner: A ranged class who can summon special forces to aid them.

Races

There are 5 playable races, the Humans, the Trolls of Zulub, the Esir of Athgarde, the Svaresir of Gardemith, and the Fenish from Everstill.


Human == Defense Race
Acolyte, Bard, Hunter, Summoner, Alchemist, Arbiter, Priest, Crusader, Squire

Troll == Magic Race
Magician, Warlock, Wizard, Hunter, Alchemist, Cleric, Illusionist, Priest

Esir == Support Race
Magician, Acolyte, Archer, Bard, Enchantress, Arbiter, Cleric, Crusader, Gladiator

Svaresir == Stealth Race
Elementalist, Ascetic, Assassin, Thief, Archer, Enchantress, Summoner, Illusionist

Fenish == Offense Race
Necromancer, Warlock, Wizard, Ascetic, Monk, Brute, Knight, Squire, Gladiator

looks cool so far, upload some screenshots! :D

EDIT: also, i have a few ideas for class abilities. the illusionist should have slowing abilites, degenerating abilities (call it illusion of pain), As well as a mana drain.

Necromancer should specialize in raising minions, cursing foes, and stealing health.

(bring the summoner up to casters)
(swordsman, is not a good class name, just call it a warrior.)

(checking once more, will update suggestions)

change the name of subclasses, like warriors including brutes and fighters inside the warrios subclass.(just an example)

Hmmm... I was thinking to give illusionist Mesmerize as well. So I can add that too! I think I'll leave degeneration to the Necromancer, though.

Thing about Summoners being a caster unit is what I'm not sure of. I think I'll keep her as ranged for now, though.

I've changed Swordsman's name to Gladiator and the entire group to Melee Classes.

In addition, I've also decided on five races which I'm going to use, the Humans, the Trolls, the Esir (elves from Athgarde), the Svaresir (dark elves from Gardemith), and the Fenish (orcs who live in fens o.o). I've also distributed the classes amongst them.

I'll post screenshots... After I feel that the terrain looks sufficient enough... Remember, I'm only 13, and I'm doing this as a one-man project - so it's alot of work.

I've finished my ENTIRE storyline from all four worlds, which makes me feel good, and I've also wrote up a description to make myself feel happy inside.

I've finished quite alot of the map in two days - and I've created two really fun dungeons, which can either be annoying, LOLLERSKATEYOUFELLINTOAPIT, or just plain satisfying.

Worked out a camera system, and created shops within the towns which are completed (and they all have different names too!).

Creeps / bosses all drawn out...

Soon to be making heroes and a quest system.

These bosses that u just smack with a sword and hope u win or is their any complexity to the bosses?I mean, in my rpg im making some of the bosses cant just be killed by hitting. you gotta put some work into it.

This sounds pretty fun and i like how many classes you have. also im not sure if you just want ideas or what, but if you want I can help you with your map (with some heroes and abilities except im not good with jass or anything like that) well...here are some ideas below that you can use without giving me credit if you want (they are just basic spells).

Here are some ideas of abilities for various classes:

Warlock:

The Warlock should have a fire/dark element base to his abilities. Here are some ideas:

Hellfire Blast- The Warlock sends a blast of hellfire at a target point dealing damage to all units in the area and burning them for a period of time.

Infernal Shots- Enchants the Warlock's attacks with infernal energy to deal additional damage. If a unit dies from Infernal Shots they explode and and a demon spawns in thier place under the control of the warlock.

Demon Gate- The Warlock opens a portal from the twisting nether and and summons a horde of demons under his control.


Gladiator

The Gladiator should have a weaker defense becuase gladiators often have a disadvantage twards everything but overcome it with bravery, power, and skill. So they should have abilities that enhance and deal damage. Here are some ideas:

Berserk- The Gladiator goes berserk and gains bonus attack damage, attack speed, and movement speed but has decreased armor while in berserk.

Critical Slash- The Gladiator uses immence strength and does bonus damage on the next attack and causes the hit unit to bleed, dealing damage every second for a period of time

Trained Combat- The Gladiator has trained in the feild of close combat for a long time. Gives a percent chance to dodge an attack and deal critical damage.


Here are some other abilities: (not for any specific class)

Arcane Sheild- Activates a sheild of arcane energy. It blocks all damage and negetive spells and deals damage to the heroes mana instead of health.

Prison of the Woods- Causes massive roots to burst from the ground at a target enemy unit holding them in place for a period of time. (if you use its entaglking roots but without damage per second. Also change the model of the roots to "Entangle Gold Mine" for a cool look)

Death Barrage- Sends several blasts of dark energy at a target area, ombarding it and stunning the effected units. (change the model of cluster rockets to death coil or orb of anialation)

Decay aura- (could be for necro) Creates an Aura that slowly eats away the life of nearby enemies. Deals damage every second to effected units. (passive) (use "permenent immolation" and change the buff models so its not fire and create an aura on the hero instead of the immolation model. Then change the area of effect to 500 or so.)

You sould make a pvp arena where there are rewards and you can bet on the outcome. also the winner gets X gold.

That's a good idea...

I'm thinking of all the possible reasons why it might be problematic, but it seems to be coming out pretty well... I could make the PvP area Circumference Keep which floats above the air, so it doesn't obstruct the going of places in my map.

I would need triggers to shut out people after the battle has begun - say 20 seconds before the battle starts, and then no one can join or leave, and if there's only one person, he gets flung out by a flock of rampant kodo beasts.

Yep, it is the RPG in your contest. And I am doing GREAT XD. No crashes yet - hopefully none to come, and no bugs because im triggering, terraining, and testing all at once.

I've edited the first post for sake of neatness, but I still need more ideas. My terraining is done for the most part, but I might decide to download some new doodads, or decide to revamp some areas.

I need quest ideas.

I'll post screenshots soon - the towns are small for the most part, but they'll have much better terrain when I actually make a Single Player campaign. The small size is used to reserve space for the rest of the ORPG. I am also thinking of revamping the entire 2nd area because it is too small.

Here are some of my quest ideas, but I still need more:

Kill all <Units> in Region.
Escort quest.
Kill <Unit>, retrieve item.
Scouting mission.
Retrieve # <Item>.
Interrupt enemy forces.
Hold out for # minutes.
Protect <Unit>.

Do as Defi4nc3 did. Load up on effect models, and make your game all shiny and what not. And jetfanginferno's models are all 80kb at max, but most are 40kb. So theres lots of room. :D
