Importing Models Color Help?

Well. Long story short. I wanted to remake the Guardian from SC1 by deleting the tail off of the Swarm Guardian. I've exported the model to 3D Max and did the necessary edits. The model animates fine and everything, but when I tried to import it back into the editor, the skin lights up to the player color. I am wondering if there is a way to fix this? I've seen other tailless Swarm Guardians online and they seem fine. Thanks
