Kafka on the shore

Anyone read it? I head it was good so I picked it up, but found myself utterly confused. Did anyone manage to grasp some sense from it?

I see some things that might bind it together, Nakata's teacher might very well have been the wife of one of the soldiers in the forest, and her dream might be the key to something important, considering Kafka's vivid dream before he enters the forest, I think the connection is likely but I don't know what's going on.

let's grasp at straws :)
