Have you checked your audio settings?

Have you tryed plugging the speakers into the onboard audio?

Do you have the instaltion disk for your audio card?

What type of audio card do you have?

This is weird, tet pluuging your speakers into an ipod or some thing, maybe a cd player or a walkmen and see if they work. Also make sure your plugging them into the right jack.

If all else fails double click on the speaker icon in your system tray and make sure that the first 2 volume controls are at least half way up.

ok and I just found out what is wrong, turn off the digital only feature, your speakers are analog, as most are. Digital is only if you have the line going into a digital tuner.

Plug your speakers into the basic out put and turn off the digital out.

Ps. I had that same problim the first time I installed my soundblaster audigy 2.

I am not realy sure where it will be on a real tech type set up, you might need to look thru all your audio settings in the control panel.

All reformatting does is purge the info on your hard drive, it could be a hard ware problim, what slot do you have your sound card in? Try placeing it in the 2nd slot away from your graphics card.
