Poor Australians...

I find this thread a little racist. I'm from Malaysia(though i'm currently staying in Australia), and i speak perfect English, and so does 80% of everyone else i know. Hell, some of them even speak better English than you English-as-first-language speakers. True, not all Asian countries are like that, but i rather you don't generally clump all of us together and label us as people who don't speak proper Goddamn English!

The problem is less the "label" than what is expected.

If you live in the US (God forbid), you're expected to speak English.
If you live in France (Never!), you're expected to speak French.

If you live in Asia... you are not expected to speak English.
Why would you anyway?
Whether you do or not has nothing to do with it.

And, yet, ... well, Australia with US worked just fine on previous games,
on lesser hardware, with lesser connections.
Why this would suddenly be a problem, no idea.

Random note:
80% means you'll end up about nine times in ten with someone from the other 20.

Random note 2:
Region lock was already a stupid idea on DVDs (and earlier technologies).

Random note 3:
I'm no native either and have nothing whatsoever to do with either the US, Australia, Asia or France.
Not that anyone would care, including me.
Isn't the Internet, and games over the Internet, always handled as "a united world"? Global Village?
Result? Me no here, me no there... this is all just a random what the fuck.

Random note 4:
The general impact of a forum post somewhere on the Internet is... well, not that big a deal.
But, yes, at times things go downhill fast :p
