Philly Cheese Meatloaf
This recipe is a delicious Philly Cheese twist on a classic meatloaf.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced green pepper
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Adobo (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup provolone cheese, sliced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Large bowl for mixing
- Small bowl for mixing
- Loaf pan for baking
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175C)
- In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, milk, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, adobo, salt, and pepper until well combined
- Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of a loaf pan
- Lay the provolone cheese slices over the meat, leaving a small border around the edges
- Cover with the remaining meat mixture, pressing the edges to seal
- In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard
- Pour this sauce over the meatloaf
- Bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf is cooked through
- Let meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing
