Pioneer Woman Sausage Gravy

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of breakfast sausage
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • Biscuits, either homemade or bought from the store (if making Biscuits and Gravy)
  • Skillet
Directions:
  • Crumble the sausage and place it in a frying skillet
  • Fry the sausage until it is cooked through completely
  • Take the sausage out of the pan and set it aside
  • Leave the fat and grease from the sausage in the pan
  • Add the flour while continuously whisking to get out any lumps
  • Season with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder then mix the ingredients thoroughly
  • While stirring slowly, add the milk, and continue to heat the mixture until it becomes thick
  • Put the sausage back into the gravy and mix it all together with a spoon
  • Simmer for an additional 5 minutes
  • Put gravy on top of the biscuits or serve on the side

Notes:

  • This Sausage Gravy goes good on anything breakfast, eggs, fried chicken and even waffles
