Router light is flashing?

Hi all.

Why would my 4 port router light, port #3, that is plugged into my main computer be flashing even when my computer is shut down, and the other port, #2, which is plugged into my secondary computer - when it is also shut down, is not flashing?

For those that don't read properly:

#3 main computer turned off. Light flashing like data is being transferred.
Why?
#2 second computer turned off. No light.
Why not?

Shouldn't be. It's not suspended, but properly shutdown. I'll do a test tonight and see if it does the same with the computer unplugged.

Kind of an obvious test but now I'm curious

Wake-on-LAN is supposed to boot a PC that has been completely shutdown once it receives a specially formatted layer-2 packet. In case you want further details...

Unplug the computer or shut off power to the power supply to get it to stop if it annoys you.
