Tutorial Simple SFX modelling

1.20 - Gravity -- it's the same thing as the real world. This is a bomb, it goes up. -2200.

I didn't understand until I read some other tutorial, maybe you should make it like.... positive number goes down, negative goes up..... because no negative flies, more gravity pulls you down.

A sfx is a model, a model normally used for spells or so. For example the Shockwave model - that is a sfx model. Sfx actually stands for special effect.

To you who don't know - sfx = Special Effect!

You explain what a SFX is twice. You can remove the latter one.


I don't like that you still managed to explain what a model and a SFX are. You say a SFX is a model but don't explain what a model is.

Here's how I would have done it:

A 3D model in computer graphics is wireframe representation of any three-dimensional object.

Special effects (SFX, FX) are just types of models to add "eye-candy" to spells (e.g).

Alpha Key -- I don't know.
...
Sort Primitive Far Z's -- I don't know.

I suggest you to search google or ask around from forums if you don't know.

Don't really want to approve tutorials when they leave some things unexplained, nevertheless they're minor details.


Anyway, you should split it into different sections and format it better.

Make the new concepts you're about to explain in bold writing, for example.

Time - this defines the time between each segment.


I'll leave this tutorial to a pending state, currently.

i really need help with this part of the editor..

can someone explain to me how these values work?

like the interpolation modes and stuff..

i'd like to know how to rotate my particle emmiters with these..

ok, for example... you're in rotation here, so lets modify it...
make it: 0: { 0, 0, 0, 1 } //new line here 500: { 50, 0, 0, 1 }

Code:
0 :{ 0, 0, 0, 1 }
500: { 50, 0, 0, 1 }

this will make our model rotate 50 in x axis on point 500 (like we do with particles in Visibility)

ok, that's with linear interpolation right?
what about the unit.. 50 deg or rad?

and have you noticed that some particle emitters look different on the editor and on WE.

Ive made this simple shockwave thingy, but its not working ingame or I just cant see it? can you fix it for me please, then explain what was the problem so I can continue creating effects
