simple timer question

when you [ljass]call TimerStart(sometimer, sometime, periodic, somefunc)[/ljass] does it start any paused timers?
or do those have to be resumed via [ljass]call ResumeTimer(sometimer)[/ljass]?

It'll (re)start any time you pass to it; it can be either paused or an already running one.
