ok, let me give you a bit of history on the map...

when i started on this map i knew war3 mapmaking was easier than starcraft map making...but i had no idea the GUI would be so glitchy!! anyway...i struggled alot with learning jass while making this map... finally i started wanting to improve more in making spells so i decided to try to make a dota style map. i've been working on it, and it's still in infant stages. but after all this working on this map like dota my learning has increased a lot! and now i'm going to develop this map again after much studying and learning...in a month or so i expect i'll have the map at 0.97 where it should be more easily editable. the way it is now it still uses a lot of gg variables...they must all be eradicated.

it's a lot to deal with, and none of you have to worry about that.
what i need from you guys, at least in this thread...is the following:

1)i want someone to design a better loading screen than the one i got. i'm too lazy with that.

2)but mostly...i want a lot of hosting for this map.

if you can help with hosting or my loading screen let me know.

so, what is the map like? hmm...well. here is a short description.

A Fun Chasing Game.
Demon Hunters (chasers) compete to be the top Demon Hunter.
Demons (runners) are rescuable but at risk of the runner doing the rescuing.
Demon Hunters Search out and capture Demons.
And Demons build outposts and run away.
Chasers win if they have all nine Runners captured.
Chasers lose at Time Limit, or if all die.

in further describing it i'll say it takes the best parts of every war3 tag map and kindof combines it all into one tag map. like, the variety of runners and chasers found in island defense is here...the ability to fight back real well against the enemy like in vampirism is there...there are a lot of trees like in tree tag... and you can pig farm up the map like you farm up the map in sheep tag...and you can use items too like you do in tree tag.

a huge difference though is that this map strives to be fair. it isn't at yet, 1.0 but already it is more balanced than all of the other tag maps out there by far...with the exception of a certain sheep tag game that isn't played often. and that game is way too simple to be compared with this one. that one is very good...best of all the sheep tags. but my map feels more like warcraft and less like...ping pong or pacman or some other simple game like that...

chaser A = like blademaster with blink
chaser B = like mountain king with global slow
chaser c = scouter...like potm/kotg
chaser d = scouter...perm invis with doctor ward
chaser e = combat hero
chaser f = hero with teleportation and sleep
and i kindof forget the rest...

runner a = buyback buildings, repick runner
runner b = magic immunity
runner v = lots of spells
runner z = able to heal an entire area of buildings
runner r = able to windwalk for a few seconds
runner m = able to teleport every once in a while\
runner h = a little like the trent in tree tag.
runner y = a little like the human in vampirism.
and there's a lot more. 26 in all for the runners.
some of the letters may be a bit off but forgive me, it's been a while since i played it a lot.

there is just a description of some of the guys you can pick in that map.
so it has a lot of replay value.

i'll probably add more items and make more of the runners more different in the future...

might as well bump this thing.

check out the hiveworkshop link, it still works. nevermind the epicwar.com link, that's severely outdated.

i have 0.96s out now, 0.97 may be out relatively soon and may include additional demon hunters to choose from.

biggest new changes are that i've fine tuned all the displayed messages and i've added random gold mine generation and i've added some item models.

You seriously have to learn alot about how to present a new project or to design a good looking start post.
You should also mind the way you talk about your project, just because of the words you used i am reluctant to test your map or even bother reading through your texts.
phrases like:
"it is more balanced than all of the other tag maps out there by far"
do not sound very nice. it might not be just offending for fans of these games or sound rude, it is just outright wrong because your assumption is way too subjective. How can you even dare to say something?

You should also remove all those useless parts of text, they are so random and not interesting in any way, like the whole upper part of the thread or phrases like these:
"it's a lot to deal with, and none of you have to worry about that."
why do you tell us this stuff when you want to present your project? We dont need an autobiography of an author to play his maps.
In my opinion talkativeness is not a bad trait, but you should keep it where it is appropriate. Definitely not in a presentation.

And please tell me this:

You cant take 1 or 2 minutes to read the descriptions of your own heroes in order to present them here?
How much time did it take you to tell us all those rather useless information at the top and how much time would it have taken to actually remember (or look it up) what does heroes are and what they do?

You could also consider using headlines, bold / italic / coloured text to make it easier for the viewer to distinguish what information are important and where to find them. But right now there arent even that many information.
You might post a screenshot of your map from birdseye-view so we can have a look at the overall terraining quality or how the bases / paths are constructed.

you could tell us what kinds of structures the runners could use or whatever there is in your game which might be somewhat intersting.

And when you compare your stuff with other maps please remember not everyone has played any map on BNet, for example:
what is potm/kotg? I dont know it, doesnt tell me anything.

And your heroes / runners dont even have their own names?! how shall people distinguish between them? This will be horrible for players to talk about this map. Just imagine it, *shudder*. horrible.

Maybe i will leave some criticism about the map if you polish the presentation a little bit. Try to at least hit the standard level of quality, like a bigger / bold title or some arguements what exactly is so incredibly good in your map.

PotM/KotG stands for Prietess of the Moon/Keeper of the Grove. I just felt the need to point that out :D Although were you stating that as an example? Lulz. Meh. I agree with your points anyways.

I agree about presentation;
With the current wall-of-text, I wouldn't even download this map.

For some good presentation examples, look at something like this.
A little extreme, but a very, very good presentation, making people want to play the map.

Something not as extreme is maybe something like my thread, here.
It's still a lot of text, but as least has headers and sections, etc.

Work on the presentation of your map;
Honestly, I would say a good 15-30 minutes to type out your thread.
That little bit of extra work can increase the views/downloads your map gets by exponential amounts.
