Timer window problem

Hi there, I'm a little confused about these timer windows.

I created a local variable timer, created a timer window for that timer, then started that timer.

However the time in the timer window always displays as 0:00:00. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

why make it a local variable? once the timer end you will need to remove the window no? therefore you will need to call upon it in another trigger which mean it has to be stored globally atleast thats what the wc3 editor did,havent played with timer in galaxy but it looks the same
edit: i just tested in galaxy and the timer woulnt start until i made it a global variable
