With the GUI can you read Chars from a string?

With the GUI can you read Chars from a string?
In other words if a user types. 12345. Can i read them as 1, and 2, and 3, and 4 and 5.
Also if i have a string saved as 12345, using triggers can i read it as 1, and 2, and 3, and 4, and 5.

I want to look at one char at a time. Is this possible?

substring integer a, integer a

That will check every letter at a time, and you could even create a new variable like
stringthingies[integer a] = substring integer a, integer a
kind of thing, so you can check it later, or use another loop to compare it to something...
