Building problem?

So i have a simple newbie question.I have a builder that simply refuses to build.I start builing something he just begins and then stops for some reason?(I have given him repair)

Depends on the workers race and the race of the building.
Human workers need mechanical buildings and the repair ability.

So meaning if i have a human builder and i want him to build something from another race he won't be able to?

Depends. You might try to make the repair ability work on other types of units, but that is not guaranteed to work (since the wc3 engine is very buggy) or you could try to make the building mechanical.
It should also have enough hitpoints because the building progress requires a certain minimum amount of hp.

Okay so basically if i just set the building "Mehanical" human workers would be able to build it,

No. But you can try and maybe it will work.
