Overwriting the Outland Abyss texture doesn't seem to work....

What am I doing wrong? I took the black square under the path TerrainArt\Outland\Outland_Abyss.blp, added some star spots, then imported it into my map and gave it the same pathname. The texture is still all black, in the editor and in-game.

There is also an "abyss" cliff type. Perhaps you need to edit that, too? I'm not sure, but once I had issues with a Cityscape tile - I had to rework its cliff type as well to fix it.

try changing some else tile and see if it works.

As far as I can tell...it doesn't. I am using the right path according to the mpq editor.

Maybe your stars are too small and are not shown?

Or perhaps brightness has to do with it, instead of size. For me, images are like this, in order of how I edit them:

Photoshop: Bright and lush, due to photoshop's color profiles.
WC3 Image Extractor 2: A bit darker and paler than it appears in WarCraft.
WarCraft: Somewhere inbetween WCIE2 and PS's settings.

I know I've had to rework skins a few times to accomodate the change in color profiles.

No? Trust me, they're bright enough

I even tried scribbling over the entire texture...it still won't show. There's something odd with importing the textures.

Maybe instead of using \ use /

Every other path uses "\" and they're loaded into the map fine. I have a decent-sized import manager list here.

Edit: Nevermind, there was something wrong with my space blp. It works now >_<
