i understand that this is an icon request thread but i was wondering...
would one of you be willing to do a model request?
it doesnt seem like a complex request to me but i could be wrong
ive never done any model editing
if you are up to it here it goes

i would like a yellow-er version of
"orb of slow <target>"
Abilities\Spells\Items\OrbSlow\OrbSlow.mdl
by "yellow-er" i mean i would like it to be similar to the color of the holy light spell.

i imported it then i change the model of some random unit to it and it said it couldnt load it or what ever so i did a test run and it worked!

I see you didn't want DIS for some of them but I added them anyway.

Tell me how the color is on the Fel Orc is.

Is modifying borders a difficult thing? Cause I'd like to pop in every so often when I find a new one I'd like done

quick tutorial (the way I do it anyhow):

for bordering icons you can download gimp (google search it), a free image manipulating program like photoshop. Then drop by the hive and download this tool. It is an image file which contains all the possible border types you can use.

The next step is to open gimp, open the border tool and open the image you want to border. Select the border tool image and you will see in the layer window it contains all the possible border types for warcraft 3. Select the layer of the border you want from the list, then 'select >> all' in the image window and copy it. Then go to the image you want to border and paste it over the top.

Before you save your image you need to make sure it has a transparent alpha layer. Do this by clicking the layer tab, go down to the 'transparency' heading and click on 'add alpha layer'. If the image already has an alpha layer this will be grayed out so don't worry about it. Now save the image as a .tga file, unchecking the 'RLE compression' box that comes up.

One more thing - you said you didn't need disbtns but dude u need em. Without disbtns in game your icon will turn green when the ability is used, when the game is paused, when your hero is dead, when you look at items in another players inventory, etc. which is a real eyesore. Make the disbtns the same way as the btns ofcourse, just using the blacked-out border instead of the active one.

Another thing you can do is journey back to the hive and download a .blp conversion program (i use warIIIviewer), and once you finish your icons you can convert them to .blp if you want. This can reduce the size of each icon by a few kb's, which is a good thing if you are putting a tonne of custom icons in your map (you only have a 4mb size limit with a custom b.net compatible map if you didn't already know)
