Epic special effects. Great producer and director. Abrams said it is not connected to Cloverfield (2008) at all. If you look closely at the trailers and whatnot, there's so many hidden things there. Weird.

Read the text at the end, it tells you to go to http://www.scariestthingieversaw.com/
Can anyone figure it out?
And there's some weird pictures, such as this one:

Will wait until it comes out on dvd, then wait for someone else to rent it.
I'm going into it thinking it will be bad, mainly because everyone said Cloverfield was so damn good, when It absolutely sucked (my opinion)

Why, it's not connected to Cloverfield, :p
Think of this as like Star Trek, MI:III, and Lost, lol.

special effects remind me of a blizzard cinimatic.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

it looks really cool, and i loved cloverfield, but...
my friend got raped... by steven spielberg

Looks awesome. I love everything J.J. Abrams has done (well, except for Mission Impossible), and having Spielberg on as producer certainly doesn't hurt (deep, deep pockets). And just like Cloverfield and Lost, the fake sites/media is always awesome to uncover.

Well, isn't MI:3 one of the only two movies he has directed? And apart from that, hasn't he only done a few episodes in some various shows?

He gets things moving and the movies he directs generally end up good. While I didn't like MI:3, it was given the highest rating in the series. His other projects, Cloverfield, Star Trek, Lost, Fringe, and Alias, have all been great successes. Although he has very limited involvement with the TV shows later on, he helps them get started with solid pilots (Lost had one of the best pilots ever), and every project he's been on has had great viral support.

So yes, he's not exactly a veteran, but he's a big name in the industry with good reason.

Plus he plays the keyboard.

Any guesses on why it's called Super 8?

~Hai-Bye-Vine~

8 monsters, 8 heroes, 8 days?

The website is weird, lol.

I can't exactly figure it out, if you keep saying Y, you eventually get to a point, where you suppodeslesly have to execute a new function or something.

The Super 8 was an unlicensed peripheral for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES, known in Japan as the Super Famicom) video game console designed to allow the system to run games developed for the Nintendo Entertainment System (known in Asia as the Famicom).
Super 8 mm film, also simply called Super 8, is a motion picture film format released in 1965 by Eastman Kodak as an improvement of the older 8 mm

lol, well the trailer says its about Area 51.

https://www.thehelper.net/pages/news/ is a link to the old news portal - i will integrate it into the interface somewhere when i figure it out
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Need to try something
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hopefully this won't cause problems.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hmm
  • Ghan Ghan:
I have converted the Headline News forum to an Article type forum. It will now show the top 20 threads with more detail of each thread.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    See how we like that.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do not see a way to go past the 1st page of posts on the forum though
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while
  • Ghan Ghan:
Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is with the pagination.
  • Ghan Ghan:
It SHOULD be there so I think it might just be an artifact of having an older style.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
  • The Helper The Helper:
I don't really get that article forum but I think it is because I have never really seen it used on a multi post thread
  • Ghan Ghan:
RpNation makes more use of it right now as an example: https://www.rpnation.com/news/

    What do you think Tom?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
I will have to get used to this.
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
The latest news feed looks good
  • The Helper The Helper:
I would like to see it again like Ghan had it the first time with pagination though - without the pagination that view will not work but with pagination it just might...

I'm not so sure, there's still a lot of Thursday left for it to become unhappy.
