Actor - Animation - Animation Speed (short question)

Good afternoon I found something confusing in the actor data and asked myself the next 2 things:

1. When lower the number of the animation speed, does the unit moves faster or slower then?
2. If you increase the speed of a unit, does the animation speed automatically goes faster also?
3. When changing the animation speed, does the 'death_actor' also increases it's speed then?

1) No. The animation speed is completely independent of the move speed.
2) No, for the same reason as mentioned above.
3) No. When setting an animation speed you should also be specifying which animation your changing the speed of.

First question I meant:

1. When you lower the number of the animation speed, does the modified unit then moves slower, or does the unit moves faster? actually I mean the turning rate

example: I increased the animation-speed-number of the mutalisk from 3 to 5 and the mutalisk flies very fast with her wings, this is good!

but when I change the animation-speed-numberof the zealot_stone from 3 to 5, then it makes very SLOW steps

so that's why I asked: does the turning rate goes faster, or does it goes slower when increase/decrease the animation-speed-number

The turning rate is actually how fast a unit turns. Most units turn instantly. For example, if you told a unit with slow turn rate to go somewhere other than the way it's facing, it would slowly rotate until it's at the right angle.

Now, I don't think this is what you meant with turning rate. I think you were talking about the animation walk speed(how fast the unit appears to be walking). As far as I know, increasing the animation speed will increase how fast the unit appears to walk. Decreasing the animation speed will make the unit take very slow steps.

yes I meant the animation walk speed, but I still don't know the next:

If the 'number' of animation-walk-speed is less, does the animation goes faster or slower then?
I assumed you meant a slower animation-speed with decreasing means a less number in the value

Still odd, when I change the move speed of the units, let's say +2 speed then the animation-walk-speed isn't going faster automatically so I have to do this all manually :)

As far as I know, increasing the animation speed will increase how fast the unit appears to walk. Decreasing the animation speed will make the unit take very slow steps.

So increasing the "number" of the animation walk speed should make the animation go faster. Why don't you just try it out and see if it goes faster or slower?

It isn't done automatically so you can set them separately if you want to.

I don't try it out because when click on the 'test map' button, the computer is going crazy and finally it will load the game but when coming back from the 'test' the terrein layer got all blank, can only fix this by resetting the starcraft editor which is going take to much time

I think there are several things in the art of the editor which controls the speed of it

- When I just opened the editor it's always fast

- If I select 'detailed view' it's slower than the table view (unfortunetaly I can work more pretty if the detailed view)

- It's even more slower when I select the 'show advanced value' option

I also found a few bugs which causing trouble for several things:

1. when publishing a map, you must not activating some other program at the same time, it might result into a 'failed' (media player or new internet browser)

2. If select the player race in the player properties AND the player race in the game variant, the map publishing will result into a failure, but it will succes after trying 3/4 times

3. in the trigger editor sometimes, when you work to 'fast', kinda 'mouse bug' occurs (don't worry, just click once outside the field and it's fixed

4. In the data editor there is a field called 'abilities', when going more detailed into this, sometimes the editor crashes when press 'ctr.z'. So better fix a mistake instead of pressing 'ctr.z'

5. When pressing the 'test map' button, be sure the terrain data is minimalized or it will be 'blank' when coming back from the test. (this happens just after testing a few times)

6. Sometimes the scroll bar in the actor-data moves automatically down when just moved it up

7. When changing the model or tint color of a unit, you must first delete the units which already in the terrein and then replace them to see the modified unit

8. Instant Crash appears sometimes when pressing F1 by accident in the trigger editor. This is obvious since you can only modify the name of a trigger by pressing 'F2' (you can also press right click and 'modify name' but this way it's gonna take a lot time)

9. When editing terrain by brushing, there appears a bug when pressing 'ctr.z' when made a mistake. Some of the brushed area's will remaining ini the map
