System Convert Phoenix Fire Damage to Damage Type

Well, here I was thinking this system would be the answer to all my problems, but...

The system doesn't appear to work. I opened your test map, put a footman in it, had him use Defend, gave the ship the Piercing damage Phoenix Fire weapon, and Defend did absolutely nothing to mitigate nor reflect the damage.

...So is there a newer system I can find or something? Because I'd really like to be able to have Phoenix Fire mimic normal attack types (so that it can interact with things like Defend or hit Magic Immune targets, etc)

I mean, I just ran search and this is the thread that popped up...
