UFO's sound like shit to me..... at least if you're thinking about making a realistic map (I'm not saying that I'm not believing in UFO's but I don't believe that they ever took Dinosaurs from our planet), its just crap....


anyway, you could add some nature disasters, like fire, floods, volcanoes, earthquakes, meteor storms...

Yea....you could end the game with a Metoer shower. (Mass Inferno) and that could count as dodging and surviving as long as possible.

You should make it so that each baby is slightly different (genetic variation kind of), and you pick which one you want to turn into when it grows up. That way you could shape it the way you want.

I'd make a HUGE evolution pattern based on what you eat. Make lots of different food which increase some stats(That does nothing in-game really, they're not like agility, even though you could use the agility, strength and intelligence to show these numbers) Then when a player's total of all stats is x. Evolve it into a new unit.

I recommend taking a big paper and just drawing some kind of evolution pattern. Also add some of the thing trithilon said to make it more intresting.
