Depends on what you're looking for. Gimp has some nice add-ons like GPS that really help it, though I think the brush creation on this is better (but don't quote me on this because i haven't checked).
Either way they both seem like good programs for free.
I tried the brush creation and it does allow for some nice brushes to be made, but the tools are kind of limited. They need to allow importing brushes (or well, just creation based on images like Photoshop) and they also need to add gradient maps. =P Otherwise it is pretty awesome. Definitely viable for sig making =D Oh, and they need a pen tool.
Yeah I agree. For me the pen tool is REALLY useful. Another thing is that it doesn't have quick mask and when you have a really big picture open it slows down to a crawl. But I guess that's to be expected since it's flash based. It wouldn't be very fun to use to make big images with lots of layers.
My biggest complaint is that not all of the photoshop hotkeys work. Undo and redo work and a few others, but a lot of them don't also. The main shortcut I use, besides undo , is spacebar + right click to quickly go from zoomed in 100% to zoomed out to fit the screen. It's SUCH a useful feature for me.
Besides those complaints it's a really nice flash app and I love how quickly it loads up.
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
I'm on a page about incorrect corrections, and spent the better part of like two hours trying to get someone to understand that -5^2 = -25, not 25, and then that post had comments get reposted because that group is self sustaining, and that person was in turn trying to explain what I just explained to them. And I'm taking that as a victory
