Gaias Retaliation ORPG Alpha Release

The problem was my warcraft's texture setting I believe. It works fine in single player now, its just a little difficult progressing far alone thats all =D

Im having a hard time changing my lv28 magician to sorcerer, its really hard to defeat the boss in that quest, any1 have any idea of how to kill the boss?

i realized i need to use those runes, but still, the boss is too strong, and no matter i got the resists from the rune and matching what its casting, i still die.

I need help!!!

Dear GaiaHolic..

i had a crash when i will hit a monster (wolf)..
i had change the texture and light to high..
but when i pick a job, then i plan to hit a monster.. its always crashed..
how can i fix it?
thx a lot from who can answer my question..

This map is fun but I've been experiencing some of the things I read about earlier in the thread such as crashing when hitting the wolf. Anyways, I'm gonna be hosting this map on US EAST so if you want to play it let me know.

Hey! I made this account so as to give YOU feedback on your game, zweibel.
Firstly, i love your game: It lives up to the standard and name of 'RPG'. The other RPGs out there that i tried, such as COT or TBR or FF, totally suck as there is no such thing as team-play or balancing of heroes. Yeah and i mean the part of a game where you hit like a freaking mad man, both speed and damage. that FAILS. but yours dont, hallelujah.

Theres a list of things i want to discuss with you about.

Mage.
Overall 8/10
Edits:
-Remove aggro from the splash damage done by fireball. (i hate running from enemies when i aggro them even if i have a decent tanker)
-Casting time is way too long if i intend of spamming spells on bosses etc..
-Job advance difficulty? 4k hp WHILE i have to run around to the runes WHILE i have to wait so long for the casting time on my skills? i dont think so. something's gotta change.

Squire.
Overall 8.5/10
Edits:
-Job advance is too tough since the orc takes way too long to die or i die before he even loses 20% hp. I have to resort to whosyourdaddy.

Ranger.
Overall 9/10
-Job advance is too tough since there are just too many clouds in the map which totally pwns me. facepalm. might wana reduce its numbers there.

Cleric.
Overall 10/10
i must admit this is the only balanced job in terms of gameplay and usefulness in the game.

Thief.
Not yet tried. but i heard its a better dps than ranger.

STAT GAIN - STRENGTH
Might want to increase the crit damage dealt as it really doesnt increase very much. 10str=1% or sth?? I have a pure str pure agi ranger which pawns all. from such a far distance i can kill mobs so fast with good sets. it only lacks in hp in which my set makes up for it. but i realised that str doesnt apply much to my crit. yeah just tweak it abit k? my hp sets arent there for show you know..

yeah i tried all those characters above and i must say cleric is the easiest. have one lvl30 bishop which is excellent in d1 d2 d3. heard theres a firelord out there which is after d3 o.o good going guys!

Sounds like flaming, but all I can say is: Learn to play o_O
All of the job advance quests are possible even without good gear.

Upgrade your WC3 to 1.24e and it should work.

Any guide for this game? I'm level 25 but still have junk items. :( and is the code reset done yet? cause I don't want to reset my game.

im not flaming. howbout you actually attempt doing the squire's job change for a start.
unlike the sin's job change quest (which is actually pretty damn simple) it is impossible. it doesnt even require skill, just either hitting lvl50 with d3 gear or getting a ranger to attack and a cleric to shield to bug your win.

Hey Zwiebelchen,

Do you reckon you could either send me the files for some of the models such as the houses, or even just send me the link to where you got them? Because I looked thoroughly on The Hive, and i couldn't find the models that you use that are shown in the screenshots.

Cheers,

I managed to beat all the job changer quests on level 25 without any help and bad gear. Even the squire one, which is not that hard, if you ask me. And no, I did not have Revenge in my testing games.

It's your fault if you think that plain "lol, I charge in and try to beat the shit out of it no matter what" is the right tactic for that encounter.

It's not on the hive but in wc3campaigns

ok i figured that when the orc used his stomp skill, u take the chance to run and pot yourself. but after that he just chases you and hit u again. what kind of tactic u suggest works on him since wars have only 1 disable which has cd.

oh and i have a whole list of bugs that you might need to know of on future updates.

Big wolf boss.
-Theres a rock wall next to the big wolf in which i just need to stand behind it (Ranger/Mage/Cleric) and it would not attack me while i kill it.

Firelord boss. (D3)
-My friend managed to send gaspode into the fray which rendered him invulnerable. So all we needed to do was afk in D3 while we wait for gaspode to finish him off for us. Pretty big bug there, it got me an Arcane Seal.

Ancient One. (D2)
-Rangers can just stand at a distance and keep shooting the boss and nothing will happen to him. We just need one single lvl1 ranger(just saying) and we could finish him off. I think you need to put in some attack range for Ancient One's abilities.

PvP.
-Players should be able to accept the PvP requests than to immediately get PvPed without warning. Happened alot to me. Suddenly some guy PvPs me and before i know it im dead.

best rpg ever

Clan Gaia @ USEast. We play pretty frequently, or alternatively (if you are on USEAST) you can type /whereis gaias. You will see something like Gaias ORPG! #1234, that is currently the game our bot from the clan is hosting. It usually hosts 24/7 with the occasional downtime every other night or so for server maintenance and such.

Could you send me the unprotected version of this map?
I also want to create walkable houses for my loap map.

dude... plz

i beat it naked other than the 2 armor shield and 5 dmg sword u can buy at the first town at lvl 25... the mage quest is easy too, u go to a different orb based on his color and his casts will heal u for i believe 1/4 the dmg they normally cause and by lvl 25 u should have enough passive regen to kill him, i had 180 mana and finished with 90, i havent tried the hunter quest but im betting its no harder

and i have some ability suggestions to add balance to the tank classes :)
crusader - holy shield (shield slam but 2x int, shared cd and hotkey with shield slam so its useless to have both), and i forget if crusader is int main attribute but it would be good to make it that lol

monk - iron fists (50% chance to do ap in an aoe and causes high threat "cough tauren pulverize cough") and he should be able to use his shield spell with steel body activated, and it would be cool if while steel body was activated judgement became instant cast with a longer cd, and i would reduce the evasion granted by steel body, i got to 75% evasion with 350 health at 50 armor... thats op, id maybe half it or drop it to sqrt([intx1.3]xagi)x0.6 or 0.5

berserker - not sure if u meant this class to be a tank but i have some suggestions for if it wasnt... lower the threat caused by aoe and reduce the armor bonus from most mail armor and up the armor bonus from shields, making shields a necessity

i also have a couple suggestions for some other classes that u may deem helpfull

necro - give minions more armor less dmg and single target taunt, they dont do enough dmg and they get 2 shotted by ogres, and i would make them auto attack my target, and id put the skele controls in the main ability screen rather than in ur book, takes up 2 spaces that could be used for other abilities... AND disease cloud (deals 0.2xsp every second for 20 secs but spreads to nearby enemies so u can only cast it once and keep it up the whole fight, i think that would almost match the sorcerer cast)

sorcerer - maybe a passive that increases spell damage? but i do think this class is good, has great balance

magician/necro/sorcerer - u could remove the cd on the iceblock ability but make it so that it can only be cast on one target and it heals that target, so u cant abuse it by getting a free cast in every time u cast it, and u can put it on the right target if u miss/mess up

assassin - vanishing powder (cd is important on this, allows use of invisibility while in combat but units can still see u until u are a certain distance away [ie: 200/300] for 20 secs with a 40 sec cd) enough so u can get some more dmg in but it cant be abused to escape (range) because i have noticed sins dont do nearly as much dmg as sorcerer/necro/zerker in the beginning phase of d3 so they could make up for it with intense dmg on bosses (how it should be), and i keep seeing threat problems with sins since they are mainly single target... so maybe wipe threat when invis and out of sight, so u can wipe threat but at a cost, have to move away ~300... AND i think backstab would make more sense if it did more dmg, didnt get a dmg bonus while invis, but got the stun, and had a lower cooldown, so sins could do more dmg but not have quite a rediculous stun in combat

druid - ick i just really dont like this class lol, but maybe add an ability that increases spell power and regen by agi? it would make it a more viable healing class, i just find it hard to go from dmg dealing to healing in a split second

never tried hunter but im going to soon, i would lower the range however... or increase the bosses range in d2 but that makes it a little harder :/

also a couple item/balance suggestions... maybe a 1h axe with armor evasion and int/sp? cloth items with more crit chance? leather items that increase crit dmg? mail armor that increases crit chance more than armor pen? (u dont need more armor pen when u get all u need from str) things that compliment the classes a little better (AWESOME job with the monk armor sets they are great) and like someone said earlier id like to see an up from the dmg increase for crit from str, maybe (150+str)% so u get to around 200% with zerkers and 240 with sins etc

other than that, this is overall the best rpg iv ever played for wc3, amazing detail great classes awesome dungeon system best save/load system iv ever seen i could go on for SO long about what i like about it lol, this is the first where iv even felt an urge to voice my opinion :p

ps if u would like to email me about maybe boss suggestions for other dungeons in future versions or other class help etc id love to help u out, my email is [email protected]
