How to make a doodad --> a Unit

I need to make a certain doodad into a unit so i can do some triggers on it. how do i do this?

Why does it need to be a unit to have triggers on it?
and do you need the doodad to be a unit, or a unit to use the doodads model file?

all u need to do is change the Art -model file select category doodads and select the image u want
