Item Ability Limit past 4?

Is it possible to make it so items can have more then 4 ability's without a trigger? If not what would a trigger example be to give an item more ability's.

ability's meaning like +str, or +dmg, or Thorns Aura. Stuff like that

Make an ability based off Spellbook and load it up with the passive abilities. Then give that ability to the item.

If the item can't be actively used, all the benefits of the abilities inside the spellbook will be granted to the item, but you won't be able to open the book.
