Witnesses described how the 63-year-old German national, who has not been named, died suddenly following the tragic incident onboard a Lufthansa flight bound for his home country.

A passenger died on a long-haul flight after blood suddenly erupted out of his mouth and nose and splattered all over the walls of the plane.

The 63-year-old German man tragically passed away in the horrifying incident on Thursday while travelling from Thailand to his home country. Witnesses said the gentleman appeared unwell when he got on the flight from Bangkok just before midnight, suffering from cold sweats and breathing difficulties.

But when staff tried to soothe his condition with some chamomile tea, blood suddenly poured out of his mouth and nose. Martin Missfelder who watched the tragedy unfold said traumatized passengers were left screaming in shock.

He told the Swiss German-language daily newspaper Blick: “It was absolute horror, everyone was screaming. They gave him a little chamomile tea, but he already spit blood into the bag that his wife held out to him.”
