New Tutorials Added!

Multiboards
Senkin has made his tutorial debut with this highly needed tutorial on World Editor Multiboards. This covers adding and configuring a multiboard, and how to add text and icons. It also includes a demo map.

Cinematics
Also making a tutorial debut is XXconanXXX, with this tutorial about World Editor Cinematics. Check this out and learn how you can add cinematics to your map!

If you guys can type up the tutorial's and make it simple enough for me to undertsand on how you want it to be seperated and stuff I will put it in the format ryoko has for the site and done in no time.

Make more people, I myself will try to think of more and make them simple o understand but my knowlage only reaches so far that we have not already covered.

I can give suggestions for more tutorials if you guys needs ideas.

Oh yeah and keep up the great tutorials guys! Thanks for the help on them cause as you all know not only a few minds can cover the details and tutorials needed for the newbs in this vast editor we use.

I would say not. While he offer help, I am still the coordinator of the tutorial site.

I am also the one who works with people, wording, and details, CSS, and formatting.

Since I am not allowed to make a new "thread" I will say this here since I want to become a better helper in this community, what tutorials don't you guys have that you could use at the moment? I would like to add into that section. Yes, I know don't worry grammer and punctuation would be corrected and checked, I just want to do something to help people and this is how I want to do it. So in conclusion if there is an idea you could give me for tutorials I would like to make them if you allow me too.

This is to ensure the integrity of ALL news. News makes the front page of this site, and tutorial site.

Looking over the list, we do not yet have a nice tutorial for some of the basics. Like terrain editor, which would cover everything from ramping to cliffs, tilesets, and the 'sink your map and rais it up' trick that I like.

We also don't have anything for foot switches and elevators, like eliz site does.

Although we have tutorial on skinning, its just the raw basics of how to do it. we don't have any graphics tutorials like others do.

We could use a heavy duty tutorial on AOS maps, which would MUCH follow the format of my TD tutorial (which needs a revamp for clarity, no one seems to read it).

So what you are saying is I am allowed to make tutorials for you guys? Or is that not clarifyed yet and the tutorial has to be checked over for errors and what not? I would be glad to make some for you guys, be a pleasure actually since I have become bored with the editor already meaning I can't find anything else to do all maps that I try to make bore me.

as Ryoko wrote on the tute site:

- yes you can write tutorials
- you will get credit
- your tutorial may be formatted for clarity plus it will be spelling/grammar checked etc. - but you still get credit if this happens!

If you don't have the energy to go through making an entire map (a bit like myself), tutorial write-ups are a great way to flex those brain muscles and to show the community what you're made of!

Side note: re: multiboard tutorial - Senkin what is the reason you said multiboards can only be shown after they have been setup? is this related to the board not refreshing properly? I might have had that problem once...strangely enough I didn't when making the minimap....

edit: forgot to write that the tutorial is very good!

You mean the 'show' part where that red note is?

I don't know Senkins reason.... But every time I show it before its all squared away, my game crashes. Odd indeed. Its been a while tho.... maybe they have updated / fixed that.

yeah that is what I am talking about, and it certainly doesn't make the game crash for me. Maybe download my minimap in the editor forum and see if it crashes your game (I showed the multiboard immediately after creating it).

This issue is by no means a biggie at any rate, I am not asking for any changes to be made to the tutorial, I was just after a bit of discussion, that's all.
