You can't actually protect a map, you can only stop the average person from opening it. Anyway, by far the best program on that list is the Map Optimizer. It offers a lot of additional features that can decrease the size and load time of your map.

But, when you use it, remember to set your patch file where you should, else the protection wont be very effective.

Yeah, Map Optimizer is definitely the best. And, by the way, locking and unlocking maps isn't supported on TheHelper.

Just to jump on the bandwagon, Widgitizer also makes it harder for people to open your maps, on the flip side, it reduces loading time, so it's all-around good
