Rotating the Entire Map

Is there a way to select everything in the map and rotate everything. Also units , cameras, regions , etc.
Just going to terrain and select all the terrain then under Edit copy remove and past in different angle I can do, but then the units and the cameras and the regions and ... I think that's it though.

Possible?

Sounds like effort.
Easiest for everyone would just rotating the players camera by 90/180/270 degrees.

All the buildings would be facing an other way, and the mini map would be kinda weird too.
Is there no way to do this then?

A thing to think about:

If you rotate everything, that would look kinda wierd, becuase everything would rotate around its own center point (pivot). It would certainly not look like rotating the camera...
What effect do you want?

Everythign will rotate but after rotate get its own normal angle again, don't worry.
(At least that's what happened when you do the terrain rotate...)

Yeah, of that i know. I meant:

Do you want everything to rotate as if the center of the map was its pivot (center point),
or rotating around its own center point?

I just made a sketch with Paint.

You rotate it 90 degrees.

Now pretend that sketch was a map.
You rotate EVERYTHING on the map 90 degrees.

You can still do this with cameras, provided its short term so you dont have to worry about being a side on with the minimap. (You just have to set the target of each players camera to a focus point and rotate around that. Actually showing the entire map rotating degree by degree isn't going to happen.
If you just want everything to move, instantly, to the new position, then that is quite simple to do using maths and triggers, but would probably have performance issues as you are moving everything.

It is not neccesary to do degrees.
Also, it is not short term. I made a map a long time ago and just now relooked at it, getting the feeling it would look better if it was on a different rotation.

you could try something like this:

...pick all units, than
unit - Move (Picked unit) instantly to (Point((1.00 x (Y of (Position of (Picked unit)))), (-1.00 x (X of (Position of (Picked unit))))))
dont know if it works, probably crashes your game down ;)
also dont know if it can be done with doodads the same way...

Aha, that's why you wanna rotate the map.

I actually don't think there is a way other than redoing the map from scratch...

Sadly.

you could select everything in one catagory lets say units. cut them out. paste them and before you choose where you wanna paste them you go to edit and rotate the paste 90 degrese. and tehn you do the same thing with all catagories

With a new map this could work.
File: Save as, to get a copy with a new name.

Copy the entire terrain, switch to the new map, paste it, with rotate, in.
Back to the "old" map, repeat with doodads, units, ...


Depending on the size of the map, it's insanely slow... but still faster than redoing it completely :p

why should he copy it over to a new map when he can just simply cut it out from the existing map and then rotate it right there?

I didn't know the Edit file was also usable with units.
Is it also with doodads and regions and cameras and stuff?
