Spell question

Hi, I want to make a vampiric attack spell for one of my units and I have a few questions:

1. Could I base this off vampiric aura and set it to only affect the unit with the ability so that it isn't an aura?

2. What's the max value of vampiric aura? Because I used to just have a normal vamp aura that drained 150% on one of my units and it didn't seem to do anything.

3. Do I need to trigger this? And if I do, how would I do it?

You want it to only affect the unit with the ability? Then just set targets to Self.

Alternatively, use the Item Life Steal ability (from Mask of Death). You'll need a fake icon for that one, and a trigger to level it up as the actual ability is leveled.

Not sure, but that's something that should be easy enough to test.

Just tested it: it works above 100%.

vamp aura max is pretty high; it doesnt drain hp it merely gives back an amount in % based on your dmg

Does that include armor?

Like if the unit with vamp aura was attacking a unit with 0 armor, it would heal for more than the amount healed if it attacks a unit with 100 fortified armor?

Yes, it heals for a percent of the damage actually inflicted. Including reductions like armor.
