Thief Ability

Hero is a thief. Model is unarmed.

So far his skills are:
fists of fury (searing arrows base)
evasion (passive)
swords (double damage)

now i have given him a steal ability allowing him to steal items from shops, but ive been having some trouble with that. Wondering if anyone has any thief ability ideas. The others are combat atm, so a thief character based spell would be nice.

thinking about stealing % of enemy gold but wouldnt know how to do that.

RoC editor as always

that doesnt exist in RoC editor.

All i can do with triggers is "unit is given an order targeting an object" then conditions.

Steal TRigger
Events
Unit - A unit owned by Player 2 (Blue) Is issued an order targeting an object
Unit - A unit owned by Player 3 (Teal) Is issued an order targeting an object
Unit - A unit owned by Player 4 (Purple) Is issued an order targeting an object
Unit - A unit owned by Player 5 (Yellow) Is issued an order targeting an object
Unit - A unit owned by Player 6 (Orange) Is issued an order targeting an object
Conditions
(Unit-type of (Ordered unit)) Equal to Thief
(Issued order) Equal to (Order(shadowstrike))
(Distance between (Position of (Ordered unit)) and (Position of (Target unit of issued order))) Less than or equal to 500.00
Actions

like that.

however the problem is that if u click to cast far away. the trigger fires and by the time u got into range that u can actually cast, nothing will happen cos the trigger has already run and so u wont get your item.

Use a generic unit event so you don't have to list each separate player.

He uses the Rain of Chaos editor, meaning he doesn't have the same options as you. He pointed that out in the very beginning of his thread.

The event you used, is working when the unit is ordered
but not when the unit is casting it.

You should find another Event for this, I think.

yeah i know that, and it seems that this is the only viable event.

This is why I started the topic, to try and get some other thief ability ideas.

Well i have no idea about the RoC editor since i only started mapping in The frozen throne.. but i guess i could help you with thief skill ideas. All thieves have to have some type of windwalk. It's a must. I have an assassin in one of my maps that has a backstab skill. It only works when the assassin has the buff sneak and is behind the target. Im not sure if it will work in the RoC World editor but it might. If you want the trigger just say so in a new post cause i gotta go now ill be back on later.
