Sorry, Jack, but I just don't see how they can't just blow something up in the US.
Building a bomb is easy enough with the help of the internet.
And finding a place with lots of people and without security isn't hard either.

And getting into the US isn't hard either. Tourist visa and go.

Where else would you hide bombs? On yourself! These machines make it pretty much impossible, meaning the options of harming an airplane are almost gone without the use of super technology.

except for that isn't the case, have you looked at the videos above where they don't catch giant razor blades or bomb components?

There was also the case of that suicide bomber who hid C4 up his rectum. These scanners wouldn't catch them; and it would not be hard to conceal enough to blow a whole in a pressurised plane.
