Unit transparency

In my map I have some units with the Ghost ability (what ladder Shades have) in order to hide them from other players. However, I'd rather not the unit be transparent like invisible units are. Is there any way to make units with this ability invisible to other players, but nontransparent to its owner? I've looked at the Ghost ability and I don't see anything that would do this (duration appears to give fadetime like Permanent Invisibility, but I imagine that renders them visible for said fadetime). I also tried looking in both Gameplay Constants and Game Interface for some kind of Invisible Unit Transparency but was unable to locate anything (Unit Visibility Change Rate didn't do it). Using a trigger to set its vertex coloring didn't help either.

Is there any way to have nontransparent invisible units?

I think invisibility turns the unit transparent to its owner by default, to show players that the unit is, in fact, invisible. You could set the fadetime to 0.00 and see if that works, though.
